The Statesman Motor Inn is located just a short walk from the Corowa town centre where our guests regularly enjoy a variety of cafes, restaurants and shopping. Take a leisurely stroll down to the river or pay a visit to the renowned local RSL Club where entertainment is often scheduled.

Just a short drive away you’ll find the local Chocolate and Whiskey Factory, the All Saints Estate or numerous other family-owned wineries for your pleasure and enjoyment.

You may also wish to take advantage of the numerous bike and walking trails along the Murray River including the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail. And with Lake Mulwala nearby, you might choose to spend your days swimming, fishing, canoeing or waterskiing.  The choices are endless!

    About Rutherglen

    Anytime is a great time to visit Rutherglen, Wahgunyah and surrounds, though late spring is perhaps the best time of year for an escape in the north east.

    The countryside is green and inviting, canopies are forming on the regions vineyards at an impressive rate, the weather is perfect for cycling, or a leisurely round of golf, new release wines and fresh seasonal produce are in abundance and the calendar is brimming with exciting dinner and events.

    Corowa Whisky & Chocolate Factory

    Heritage listed flour mill from the 1920’s is now being transformed into a thriving whiskey and chocolate factory. A Café and coffee shop serving the finest beverages, devonshires and light meals makes for a wonderful experience.


    The Corowa Federation Craft Market is held on the 1st Sunday of every month and is held at Bangerang Park Corowa. Open 8.00am till 1.00pm.

    Corowa Golf Club

    Enjoy the 27 hole championship course, pro shop and modern clubhouse.


    Local restaurants, cafes, and hotels offer great choices of cuisine. D’Amico’s fine Italian cuisine and Sultans Turkish cafe and restaurant are just a couple to get you started. The RSL and Golf clubs are family friendly and offer a shuttle service to and from the Statesman Motor Inn.

    Milawa Gourmet Region - 30 Minutes

    The region is home to a number of leading wineries and gourmet food producers. Enjoy the cellar door tastings, Cheese factory and cafe at Brown Brothers.

    Lake Mulwala/Yarrawonga - 30 mins

    Enjoy all that this beautiful lake has to offer. Fishing, kayaking, lake cruises, water skiing or just relax on the foreshore.

    Beechworth - 35 mins

    One of Victoria’s best preserved gold towns. A day trip to this interesting town is a must. Visit the infamous Beechworth Bakery or take a walk through the Beechworth Honey Experience and learn about bees, the environment and the processes involved in getting Beechworth Honey on your supermarket shelves.

    Wangaratta - 35 mins

    Wangaratta is Australia’s home of jazz with the ‘Wangaratta Festival of Jazz’ held annually on the weekend before the Melbourne Cup being the first Tuesday in November each year.

    Chiltern - 30 min

    Chiltern is a fascinating historic village, built upon the solid values of its mining heritage. It’s distinguished by carefully preserved streetscapes with historic brick buildings and wooden verandahs.

    Howlong - 25 min

    Howlong has a fantastic golf course that would appeal to all golfers.

    Federation Festval - January

    A celebration of the ‘birth of Federation’ in Corowa. Festivities include market stalls, food stalls and entertainment all day with the night capped off with a huge fireworks display.

    Day on the Green - February

    Open air concert held on the grounds of the All Saints Estate. A fantastic array of talented musicians along with great food and wine.

    Tastes of Rutherglen - March

    Tastes of Rutherglen is a combination of local wineries, chefs and producers joining forces to host regional Victoria’s ultimate gourmet party!
    Visit our friendly cellar doors over these two gourmet weekends where you’ll meet the Legends behind Rutherglen’s world-class wines and discover the passion of North East Victoria’s regional producers.

    Annual GPA Swim & Military Vehicle Rally - March

    Corowa has become the largest military vehicle rally under the Southern Cross and is attended by guests and participants alike from all over the world. In increasing numbers every year now, those who own and restore ex-military vehicles from all eras and all nations gather together at Corowa to trade vehicles, parts and stories.

    Australian Billy Cart Championships - April

    This is an event for all ages with competitors racing down the main street in their homemade or professionally created designs. Sanger Street is the centre of racing action with entertainment and activities for all the family.

    Corowa Easter Lawn Tennis Tournament - Easter

    The Easter Lawn Tennis Tournament will be held at the Corowa Lawn Tennis courts over the Easter long weekend. With 36 events there is sure to be an event for any age group or skill level.

    Winery Walkabout - June

    This popular event is held on the long weekend in June every year. A fun festival that combines music, food, and wine and involves all the regions wineries.

    Corowa Country Music Roundup - June

    Enjoy a music weekend of live country music at the Corowa RSL club.

    Corowa Festival of Dance - October

    This annual multi venue weekend event is held on the NSW Labour Day long weekend. A fantastic celebration of music and dance.
